Mr. Bernstein is former chairman of Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and has served on the boards of trustees of the Johns Hopkins University and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. He is also part-owner of the Baltimore Orioles. Mr. Bernstein also serves as president for the International Association of Airport Duty Free Stores, a position he has held since his election to that office in 1982. A native of Baltimore, Mr. Bernstein began his association with the duty free industry with Samuel Meisel and Company, Inc., currently DFI's Diplomatic and Wholesale Division. After graduating from the Johns Hopkins University in 1957, he worked in a variety of positions at Meisel until his appointment as president in 1966, a position he maintained until May 1992.
