Virtual Information Session – Spring Enrollment Options at Johns Hopkins SAIS

August 10, 2020 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

The Office of Admissions invites you to learn more about opportunities to begin graduate studies in late January 2021, the start of our spring semester, by joining a virtual information session.  We will accept applications for the spring semester for the Master of Arts (MA), the Master of International Public Policy (MIPP), and Certificate programs. Current students and Admissions staff will be present to answer your questions about the admissions process, the student experience and the impact your Johns Hopkins SAIS education could have on the world.

The MA degree is a two-year program for full-time students and is the cornerstone of the Johns Hopkins SAIS experience. About half of all entering MA students spend a year at SAIS Europe and a year in Washington DC, and half spend both years in Washington. The academic program is the same for both groups and consists of interdisciplinary course work in international relations, economics and languages.

The MIPP is designed for experienced professionals with seven or more years of relevant work experience, who wish to develop the advanced analytical and leadership skills necessary to formulate and advocate policy on key international issues. Students have the advantage of designing their own curriculum consisting of eight non-language courses (worth a total of 32 credits). They may also affiliate themselves with an academic program to gain in-depth insight into a specific field of study. Students complete the program in one academic year, full-time or over the course of two years, part-time.
For those seeking a short-term option, we offer three Certificate programs in International Relations, International Development and International Economics. Students may complete all four courses required for a Certificate full-time in one semester, or part-time in any time frame.  Coursework completed in the Certificate program may later be transferred to several of our degree programs.
