Viola Du, MAIR, 2023

I am from Nanjing, China, I have lived in the United States for ten years. I currently serve the SAIS China Club as the Director of Professional Development. I earned my bachelor’s in business degree from Babson College with majors in economics and law. I also cross-enrolled at Wellesley College to study Chinese history. After graduating, I worked as a research intern at the CSIS’s China Power Project and as a business development intern in Intralink, a global consulting firm.
My research interests include U.S.-China relations, the Taiwan Strait, and the broader Asia-Pacific security architecture. I chose SAIS because of its outstanding reputation in the field of international relations, particularly in China Studies, as well as my connections to several SAIS alumni who I now regard as my mentors.
