Borrow and Renew

Start your search in Catalyst, the JH Libraries catalog. You can limit your search to online resources, or request print materials for contactless pickup from SAIS.

If the JH Libraries don’t have what you’re looking for, use Interlibrary Loan (ILL). For book chapters or specific pages use the article request form.

Print materials are also available from BorrowDirect partner libraries, with contactless pickup. Currently, you can expect to receive materials approximately two weeks after placing a request, depending on where items are coming from.

For journal articles, first check Catalyst or FindIt to see if the publication is available via Johns Hopkins. If not, use the ILL article request form.

Course Readings

Mason Library posts as much required course reading as we can, in accordance with copyright law guidelines. Access the materials via Blackboard (click on Course Readings on your class site).

"Reserve" books are required readings for each course, made available for three-hour loan at the Circulation Desk. As a general rule, recommended readings are not on reserve.
