L. Peter O'Hagan '87

Peter O'Hagan is a managing director at The Carlyle Group, based in New York.  

Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. O'Hagan served as an Executive in Residence in the Energy and Infrastructure Group at KKR and Co from 2014 to 2015.  Before this, Mr. O'Hagan spent almost 23 years at Goldman Sachs where he most recently co-headed the global commodities business and served as head of origination and structuring.   At Goldman Sachs, he became a managing director in 2000, and a partner in 2002. During 2009 and 2010, Mr. O’Hagan was the founding CEO of Goldman Sachs Bank USA, with $110 billion in assets, formed at the time that Goldman Sachs became a federally regulated bank holding company (BHC).

Mr. O'Hagan holds a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Toronto and an M.A. from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.  He serves on the board of Stillwater Mining.  Mr. O’Hagan is a director of the not for profit World Bicycle Relief.​
