Sara O'Rourke '13

Sara Slayton O’Rourke is an Associate Partner in McKinsey & Company’s Washington, DC, office, where she is a leader in the Public Sector and Public Finance practices. She specializes in serving state and federal institutions on fiscal and financial management, economic development, government performance, and major strategic and operational topics. She also leads the firm’s work on women’s leadership in the public sector. Prior to joining McKinsey, Ms. O’Rourke worked in education and post-conflict development in the Middle East. She graduated from Harvard College with a B.A. in Social Studies and Secondary Field in French, and received an M.A. in International Affairs and Economics from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where she founded SAIS Women Lead, an interdisciplinary program uniting students, professors, and alumni to advance women’s empowerment.
