About

Brita Caminiti has taught various levels of Italian and served as Italian Language Program Coordinator at Johns Hopkins SAIS since 2001. She also taught ESL at Johns Hopkins SAIS as part of Summer Programs, as well as Philips Andover and the College of Notre Dame. She is a former lecturer at Tufts University and teaching assistant at Harvard University. She was awarded the Outstanding Teaching Award at Harvard. She previously served as an instructor at Dante Alighieri Society. Her primary interests are second language acquisition and pedagogy, Italian American literature and Southern Italian dialects. She received her MA in Italian language from Middlebury College, and an MA in Italian literature from Johns Hopkins University.
