About

Cleo Verkuijl is a Research Fellow at the Stockholm Environment Institute, Oxford; a Team Leader and Writer for the Earth Negotiations Bulletin; a tutor for the University of Edinburgh’s online course, "the Law of Climate Change," and a frequent contributor to Environmental Policy and Law Journal. Professor Verkuijl has attended over 20 UN sustainable development conferences as a writer, researcher and advocate. Her current research focuses mainly on climate change governance, including the UNFCCC negotiations, climate and trade, the politics of fossil fuel subsidy reform, and implementation of the 2015 Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals. She has previously worked as a Junior Policy Officer at Climate Action Network International and on EU climate policy in Brussels. She earned her LL.M. with Distinction in Global Environment and Climate Change Law from the University of Edinburgh (UK).
