Filippo Taddei

About

Filippo Taddei is Associate Fellow at SAIS Europe, and Executive Director, Global Investment Research, Goldman Sachs International. His academic research focuses on macroeconomics, international finance and the relationship between the labor market and the pension system. For his academic contributions, he was awarded the Lamfalussy Fellowship by the European Central Bank and the Young Economist Award by the European Economic Association. He teaches macroeconomics and international finance.

Taddei has over a decade of experience as a policymaker and senior advisor, with a specific focus on labor and credit markets. Until December 2020 he was Associate Professor of the Practice of International Economics at SAIS Europe. From 2013 to 2017, he served as Economic and Labor Affairs Spokesperson of the ruling Partito Democratico (Italian Democratic Party), reporting directly to the Italian Prime Minister. In this capacity, Taddei was one of the main architects of the Italian labor market reform in 2014-15. Previously, he was a policy expert and consultant on labor market policies to the International Labour Organization, the European Commission, and several multinational companies. He earned his PhD in Economics with distinction from Columbia University and his Laurea cum laude from the University of Bologna.
