IPSCON hosts its second Carnegie Squares seminar of Spring 2024 with Aroop Mukharji
On April 11, 2024, former IPSCON junior scholar and current Senior Advisor for Economic and National Security at the U.S. Department of Commerce Aroop Mukharji met virtually with junior scholars in our International Policy Scholars Consortium and Network for the second Carnegie Squares session of the Spring 2024 semester. The group discussed Mukharji's career in government and his scholarly experiences before that.
Mukharji received his BA in Math and Political Science from Williams College, studied for two years in London as a Marshall Scholar, and received his PhD in Public Policy at Harvard University, where he studied American foreign policy and presidential decision-making in the William McKinley (1897-1901) and Teddy Roosevelt (1901-1909) administrations. Since 2022, he has served as Senior Advisor for Economic and National Security to the Deputy Secretary in the Treasury Department. He currently is an Associate of the Applied History Project at the Harvard Kennedy School's Belfer Center and a Non-Resident Fellow at the Eurasia Group Foundation. He was a previous IPSCON junior scholar.
