IPSCON hosts its first Carnegie Squares seminar of Spring 2024 with Shivshankar Menon
On February 22, 2024, Kissinger Center Peterson Senior Fellow and former National Security Adviser to the Prime Minister of India Shivshankar Menon met virtually with junior scholars in our International Policy Scholars Consortium and Network for the first Carnegie Squares session of the Spring 2024 semester. The group discussed Menon's career in India's government, India’s rise, and its relations with the US and China. Junior scholars asked questions about Menon's career trajectory and his assessment of China and global politics today.
Shivshankar Menon is currently visiting professor at Ashoka University, India, and Chair of the Ashoka Centre for China Studies.
He was previously National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of India, Jan 2010-May 2014; Foreign Secretary of India, October 2006-July 2009; and has served as the Indian Ambassador or High Commissioner to China, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Israel.
