Biography

Dr. Mary Barton is a wargaming analyst supporting the Department of Defense. Previously, she worked in the Historical Office of the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). Her book, Counterterrorism Between the Wars: An International History, 1919–1937, is scheduled for release with Oxford University Press in November 2020. Mary received a Ph.D. in history from the University of Virginia in December 2016, completed a postdoctoral fellowship in U.S. Foreign Policy and International Security at Dartmouth College in August 2017, and is currently writing a history of the establishment of the Five Eyes intelligence alliance.
