Economist and Author Hernando de Soto to Speak at JHU SAIS
Hernando de Soto, best-selling author and noted Peruvian economist, will speak at the Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) on Wednesday, 10/17 at 5:30 p.m.
To address the major issues raised by globalization, SAIS recently created a lecture series, "The Forum on Constructive Capitalism." De Soto will speak about "Dead Capital and the Poor" at the forum's next event.
De Soto, one of the world's most creative minds dealing with the problem of poverty in the Third World, is the best-selling author of The Other Path and The Mystery of Capital: Why Capitalism Triumphs in the West and Fails Everywhere Else. He serves as president of the Institute for Liberty and Democracy in Lima.
