Giving
Johns Hopkins Development and Alumni Relations has transitioned to a new internal constituent database. We’re excited about new features that this system will allow. While we are getting up and running, please expect that our response times, including our ability to update any changes to your contact information, may be slightly delayed. We appreciate your patience as we make this transition.
Please note that the SAIS Office of Development and Alumni Relations has a new address as we have moved to our new home at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center.Make an Impact

Ways to Give
Fund for SAIS
Make the biggest impact — the Fund for SAIS serves as a critical source of funding for the university’s highest priorities. When your gift is designated to the Fund for SAIS, your support allows us to offer more fellowships, scholarships, and other financial aid or scholarship support for current students. Your annual gifts have a direct impact in helping us shape the world.
SAIS Student Emergency and Hardship Fund
Unexpected life events can happen to anyone at any time. From sudden illness to loss of income, these hardships can bring significant stress to our students and affect their ability to thrive at Johns Hopkins SAIS. In 2020 in response to the pandemic, the school created the COVID-19 Student Emergency Fund (SEF) to support temporary emergencies during this unprecedented time. Our incredible community came together to raise over $1.2 million for our students on all three campuses. The SEF covered unanticipated travel and housing costs, technology for virtual learning, and more.
This generosity inspired the SAIS community to continue supporting students in crisis by establishing the permanent SAIS Student Emergency and Hardship Fund. While our students continue to request assistance beyond the pandemic, this Fund offers them a chance to focus on achieving their academic goals. Your gift can ensure that all students are thriving during their time at SAIS, despite unexpected emergencies! The Fund will provide students with access to essential funding to cover a variety of needs such as food insecurity, housing support, necessary household expenses, unexpected travel costs, loss of income, and more. Make your online gift today, or contact [email protected] for more information about how to support our students.
Giving Societies
No matter what campus you give to, when you meet certain designation levels, you earn admittance into our recognition societies. They are designed to honor and thank alumni and friends for their ongoing and generous financial support around the world.
- Christian A. Herter Society: Recognition for gifts $2,500 or more
- Dean’s Circle: Recognition for gifts $100,000 or more
- Grove Haines Society (SAIS Europe)
- Legacy Circle: Recognition for gifts left in estate planning, bequests and wills, and other planned gifts
- Special Initiatives (SAIS Europe)
Fellowships
Establish a gift that keeps on giving — an endowed fellowship. Not only do fellowships support students of promise, but they allow donors the unique opportunity to create relationships with students that last throughout their professional lives. You may designate your fellowship to any of our three campuses, and you will be invited to events where you can meet the very students you support. Currently, there are more than 180 named fellowships and counting.
Buildings
Giving towards a building or construction project allows for your name to be remembered forever. Buildings on campus are spaces where students remember some of the best times of their lives. They host classrooms — the heart of the school’s experience — as well as events such as lectures, seminars, conferences, student government activities, graduations, and alumni reunions.
Planned Giving
When planning for your overall financial and estate designation wishes, gift planning ensures your philanthropic wishes are met. Whether you remember Johns Hopkins through appreciated stock, a retirement plan, or your will, planned gifts allow the school to prepare for the future. They may result in significant tax benefits, or even a new source of income for you and your spouse. For additional information, please visit the Johns Hopkins Office of Gift Planning website.
