Former Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan to Speak at JHU SAIS

Boris Shikhmuradov, former foreign minister of Turkmenistan, will speak about "Priorities in Regional Policies" at the Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) on Thursday, 11/9 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.Since 06/2000, Shikhmuradov has been Turkmenistan President Niyazov's special envoy for the Caspian Basin and Southeast Asian Affairs. He has been very involved in the quest for a resolution of the conflict in Afghanistan that will reestablish cordial relations, communications and transport in the region.

The event, hosted by the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute at SAIS, is open to the public and the media. It will be held in the Rome Building Auditorium, located at 1619 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C.
