Former U.S. Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson to Speak at JHU SAIS

Henry M. Paulson Jr., former U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, will speak at the Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) on Tuesday, October 25 at 12:30 p.m.

Paulson will speak about “The United States and China: Five Principles for Strengthening the Global Economy” at this event co-hosted by SAIS and the University of Chicago.

Currently Paulson serves as a distinguished senior fellow at the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy Studies. Earlier this year, he founded the Paulson Institute, an independent center located at the University of Chicago and dedicated to fostering international engagement, with a special emphasis on relationships between the United States and China. The institute is initially concentrating on two areas: encouraging progress in environmental protection and the development of alternative sources of clean energy; and promoting economic activity and cross-investment between the two countries, leading to the creation of jobs.

From January 2009 to June 2010, he was based at SAIS as a distinguished visiting scholar and Bernard L. Schwartz Forum on Constructive Capitalism fellow.

There are a limited number of seats available to the general public to attend this event which will be held in Kenney Auditorium located on the first floor of the school’s Nitze Building, 1740 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. Members of the public should RSVP to http://bit.ly/paulson-oct25.

SAIS also will host a live Webcast of the event accessible at www.sais-jhu.edu.
