JHU SAIS to Hold Forum on the World 10 Years After 9/11

The Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) will hold a forum, “The World 10 Years After 9/11” on Tuesday, September 13 at 4 p.m.

How have the 9/11 attacks and the turbulent years that followed changed the way we view the world today, and what are the implications for foreign policy, intelligence and defense? A panel of SAIS faculty and scholars—all of them engaged as senior government officials during this period—will reflect on the recent past and offer recommendations for the future.

Panelists include:
• Jose Maria Aznar, distinguished fellow at the SAIS Center for Transatlantic Relations (CTR) and former president of the government of Spain
• John McLaughlin, distinguished practitioner-in-residence at the SAIS Philip Merrill Center for Strategic Studies and former acting director of the CIA
• Eliot Cohen, director of the SAIS Strategic Studies Program and former counselor of the U.S. Department of State
• Eric Edelman, distinguished practitioner-in-residence at the Merrill Center and former under secretary of Defense for Policy and former U.S. ambassador to Turkey and Finland
• Dan Hamilton (moderator), CTR executive director

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held in Kenney Auditorium located on the first floor of the school’s Nitze Building, 1740 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. Members of the public should RSVP to CTR at http://www.eventbrite.com/event/2146399940/mcivte.

Members of the media who plan to cover the event should respond to Felisa Neuringer Klubes in the SAIS Communications Office at 202.663.5626 or [email protected].
