JHU SAIS to Host Asian Multilateralism Conference

The Johns Hopkins Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) will hold a one-day conference, "Asian Multilateralism and the Future of the American Role in East Asia," on Monday, April 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Bernard L. Schwartz Forum on Constructive Capitalism and the Edwin O. Reischauer Center for East Asian Studies are the SAIS co-hosts of this conference.

The panel discussion topics are listed below.

8:30 a.m. - Welcoming Remarks by SAIS Dean Jessica Einhorn and Francis Fukuyama, Schwartz Professor of International Political Economy at SAIS

8:40 a.m. - Session I: "Asian Multilateralism: Looking Backwards and Forward"

10:30 a.m. - Session II: "Economic Multilateralism"

2 p.m. - Session III: "New Multilateral Security Structures"

3:45 p.m. - Session IV: "Implications for American Interests"

The conference, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Rome Building Auditorium, 1619 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. Members of the public should RSVP to 202.663.5812 or 202.663.5650.
