JHU SAIS to Host Forum on New Slavery in the Global Economy
The Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) will hold a forum, "Disposable People: New Slavery in the Global Economy," on Friday, 05/18 from noon to 1:30 p.m.
The event is hosted by the SAIS Foreign Policy Institute's Protection Project. Kevin Bales, a professor of sociology at the University of Surrey Roehampton in London and author of the Pulitzer Prize-nominated book, Disposable People: New Slavery in the Global Economy, will be the featured speaker.
The event, open to the public and the media, will be held in room 806 of the Rome Building, 1619 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. Members of the public should RSVP to 202.663.5896.
