JHU SAIS to Host Forum on Women and Human Rights

The Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) will hold a forum, "Making History: Moving the Mass Enslavement of Women to the Top of the Human Rights Agenda," on Wednesday, 08/2 from 12 to 1:30 p.m.

The event is hosted by the SAIS Foreign Policy Institute's Protection Project. Michael Horowitz, director of the Hudson Institute's Project for Civil Justice Reform and the Project for International Religious Liberty, will discuss the creation of a broad-based coalition of religious and women's leaders committed to ending the growing, worldwide problem of sex trafficking of women and children. In addition, he will address the pending anti-trafficking legislation now being considered by Congress.

Laura Lederer, primary investigator of the Protection Project at SAIS, will moderate the discussion.

The event, open to the public and the media, will be held in room 812 of the Rome Building, 1619 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. Members of the public must RSVP to (202) 663-5896.
