JHU SAIS to Host Launch of Dean Vali Nasr’s New Book on U.S. Foreign Policy

The Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) will host the book launch of The Dispensable Nation: American Foreign Policy in Retreat by SAIS Dean Vali R. Nasr on Friday, April 19 at 12:30 p.m.

This event will feature remarks by Nasr about his new book to be released by Doubleday on April 16.

In The Dispensable Nation, Nasr, a former U.S. Department of State adviser for Afghanistan and Pakistan, walks the reader through the halls of government decision-making and into the annals of history, covering the past 10 years of U.S. engagement in Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan and the entire Middle East region. The conclusion takes the shape of a set of policy prescriptions rooted in America’s role in international affairs and the global balance of power with China.

The event, free and open to the public, will be held in Kenney Auditorium located on the first floor of the school’s Nitze Building, 1740 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. Members of the public should RSVP to http://dispensable-nation.eventbrite.com.
