Scholar and Author Francis Fukuyama to Speak at JHU SAIS

Francis Fukuyama, Hirst Professor of Public Policy at George Mason University and best-selling author, will speak at the Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) on Thursday, 10/19 at 5:30 p.m.

To address the major issues raised by globalization, SAIS is announcing a new lecture series, "The Forum on Constructive Capitalism." Fukuyama will speak about "Social Capital, Globalization and Development," at the forum's inaugural event.

Fukuyama's most acclaimed book, The End of History and the Last Man, has appeared in over 20 foreign editions and made several bestseller lists throughout the world. He has written extensively on issues relating to questions concerning democratization and international political economy. In addition to serving on the faculty at George Mason, he is a consultant to Rand in Washington, D.C.
