A Conversation with Wes Moore

March 9, 2021 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Join Dean Eliot A. Cohen and renowned author, motivational speaker, and Johns Hopkins alumnus Wes Moore for a dynamic discussion on leadership, equity, and anti-poverty efforts in America.

Wes Moore is the Chief Executive Officer of the Robin Hood Foundation, one of the largest anti-poverty forces in the nation. The Foundation’s mission is to lift families out of poverty in New York City by providing support for food, housing, education, legal services and workforce development.

Wes is a motivational speaker, bestselling author, combat veteran, and a social entrepreneur. His first book, The Other Wes Moore, a perennial New York Times bestseller, captured the nation’s attention on the fine line between success and failure in our communities and in ourselves. That story has been optioned by executive producer Oprah Winfrey and HBO to be made into a movie. He is also the author of the bestselling books The Work, Discovering Wes Moore, This Way Home and the recently released, Five Days: The Fiery Reckoning of an American City which focuses on the 2015 riots and unrest in Baltimore following the death of Freddie Gray.
