Daniel’s interest in diplomacy and international relations was shaped by his early experiences living in South Korea as a child and studying abroad in Japan in 2014. He chose Johns Hopkins SAIS for its comprehensive approach that includes both quantitative and qualitative skills development. Daniel believes such a balance is essential for intellectual and professional growth.

Prior to Johns Hopkins SAIS, Daniel worked as a Korean-language analyst at Kroll, a corporate consulting firm. He conducted Korean-language due diligence and advised clients on business and legal risks prior to their mergers and acquisitions or other business ventures. He holds a BA from Swarthmore College.

Daniel is a Thomas Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellow and plans to join the State Department as a Foreign Service Officer after graduating Johns Hopkins SAIS. As part of the fellowship, he worked this past summer at the State Department’s Office of Regional Policy Coordination under the International Organizations Bureau.
