JHU SAIS to Hold Discussion on Civilian Leadership in Wartime

The Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) will hold a forum, "Supreme Command: Soldiers, Statesmen and Leadership in Wartime," on Wednesday, 10/23 at 5:30 p.m.

This is the next event of the "SAIS Faculty Book Series" which will feature a discussion of Supreme Command: Soldiers, Statesmen and Leadership in Wartime, a book written by Eliot Cohen, director of the Strategic Studies Program SAIS, recently published by the Free Press.

Cohen will make some introductory remarks, followed by a panel discussion about the book and civilian leadership in wartime. Panelists include:

¨ Karl Jackson, director of the SAIS Asian Studies Program

¨ Michael Mandelbaum, director of the SAIS American Foreign Policy Program

¨ Ronald Spector, professor of history and international affairs at George Washington University's Elliot School of International Affairs

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Kenney Auditorium of the school's Nitze Building, located at 1740 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., in Washington, D.C.
