JHU SAIS to Host Forum on South Caucasus and the Caspian

The Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) will hold a forum, "South Caucasus and the Caspian: A View from Baku" on Tuesday, 10/22 at 5:30 p.m. (preceded by a reception at 5 p.m.)

Ilham Aliyev, first vice president of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and member of Milli Majlis (parliament) of Azerbaijan, will be the featured speaker at this W.P. Carey Forum of the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute (CACI) at SAIS. The U.S.-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce is the event's co-host.

Aliyev, who is at the forefront of Azerbaijan's energy strategy, specifically will discuss the recently launched Baku-Tblisi-Ceyhan Main Export Pipeline, Azerbaijan's agreement with Russia on delimitating the Caspian seabed and recent developments in Azerbaijan-Iranian relations.
