JHU SAIS to Host Two-Day Conference Commemorating 50th Anniversary of U.S.-South Korea
The Johns Hopkins Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) will hold a two-day conference, "Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the U.S.-R.O.K. Alliance: Strategic Realignment Around the Korean Peninsula and Tasks for New U.S. and South Korean Leadership," on Thursday, 01/23 and Friday, 01/24.
This conference, co-hosted by the SAIS Japan and Korea Studies Program and the Chosun Daily Newspaper, will feature speeches by Jay-Kun Yoo, member of the R.O.K. National Assembly and President-elect Roh Moo Hyun's special envoy to the United States, Thomas Foley, former speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Richard Solomon, former assistant secretary of State for East Asia and Pacific Affairs, and Samuel Berger, former national security adviser to President Clinton.
