Johns Hopkins SAIS and SOAS University of London launch cooperative degree program

The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and SOAS University of London have partnered to launch a cooperative degree program. This two-year program, will enable students to earn a Master of Arts in International Affairs at SAIS Europe, the school’s European campus located in Bologna, Italy, and a Master of Science in Developmental Studies, Economics, or Politics from SOAS University of London. Students in this two-year program spend one year at each campus and can begin their studies in either Bologna or London.
“For 65 years, SAIS Europe has prepared students for global careers in public service, diplomacy, business, and nonprofit organizations under an American system of graduate education. We are proud of our reputation for developing creative leaders who can see beyond borders and work across sectors and we welcome this opportunity to partner with SOAS to continue to enhance the educational experience for students at both schools,” said Johns Hopkins SAIS Dean Eliot A. Cohen. “This new cooperative degree partnership with SOAS presents a unique opportunity to combine the strengths and resources of both schools to develop global leaders capable of addressing the world’s most pressing challenges.”
“We are delighted to collaborate with Johns Hopkins SAIS to offer this unique course for our students. In today’s complex political, economic and social environment SOAS works to prepare students to navigate and overcome these global challenges.” said SOAS University of London Director Baroness Valerie Amos CH. “This program will continue to help our students understand the world from different perspectives and equip them for becoming tomorrow’s leaders.”
Through this partnership, SOAS University of London joins Sciences Po Lille (France), Diplomatic Academy of Vienna (Austria), University of Leiden (The Netherlands), and University of Bologna (Italy) as one of SAIS Europe’s cooperative degree partners.
