“The Current State of U.S.-Russian Relations,” a discussion with Ambassador Sergey I. Kislyak, will be hosted at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
The conversation will be an opportunity to address areas of cooperation between Russia and the United States regarding Syria, the future of U.S.-Russian relations following the U.S. presidential election, and security cooperation to combat transnational threats including terrorism.
The discussion is hosted by Dean Vali Nasr, The Foreign Policy Institute and the SAIS Russia-Eurasia Club.

About the Speaker
Sergey I. Kislyak serves as the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United States. He previously was the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2003 to 2008. He served simultaneously as the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Belgium, and the Permanent Representative of Russia to NATO in Brussels, Belgium, from 1998 to 2003. Kislyak has worked in the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation since 1997, including a variety of high-level positions. He graduated from Moscow Engineering Physics Institute in 1973, and the USSR Academy of Foreign Trade in 1977.
