“Natural Gas in Europe, Finding the Balance between Market and Geopolitical Challenges: A View by Snam” with Marco Alverà, CEO of the natural gas infrastructure company Snam, will be hosted at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
The event will mark the launch of Snam’s inaugural Global Gas Report, prepared in collaboration with the BCG Center for Energy Impact. It is presented by the Dean’s Forum and the Center for Transatlantic Relations at Johns Hopkins SAIS.

About the Speaker
Marco Alverà was named the Chief Executive Officer of Snam, a European leader in the construction and integrated management of natural gas infrastructure, in April 2016. He also serves as Managing Director of Snam Rete Gas and interim Chief Industrial Assets Officer of Snam. He has previously served as Chief Operating Officer of Snam from January to April 2016, and Chairman of the Board of Snam Rete Gas from April 2016 to April 2017.
Alverà began his career in London working in Private Equity and M&A, after earning a degree in Philosophy and Economics from the London School of Economics. In 2000, he founded Italy’s first broadband ADSL company, Netesi. Alverà has worked in the energy and gas industries in various senior roles for Enel, Wind Telecom, Eni, and EUROGAS. He currently serves as President of GasNaturally, board member for S&P Global, and member of the General Council of the Giorgio Cini Foundation in Venice.
