Johns Hopkins SAIS to host 3rd annual China-Africa Research Initiative Conference Oct. 13-14, 2016

The 3rd annual China-Africa Research Initiative (CARI) Conference will be hosted October 13-14, 2016 at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
“Orient Express: Chinese Infrastructure Engagement in Africa,” will feature keynote speaker Dr. Jamie Monson, Professor of History and Director of African Studies at Michigan State University.
The two-day conference will highlight scholars from the U.S., China, England, Canada and Nigeria presenting their research on Chinese investments in Africa, including Chinese engagement in developing Africa's ports, Chinese investment in Africa's telecoms sector, and Chinese engagement in African hydropower projects.
Research papers that will be shared during the conference include:
