“A Conversation on Asia’s Economic Challenges with Frederic Neumann,” will be hosted at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
Neumann, an alumnus of Johns Hopkins SAIS, will discuss a range of topics including: the winners and losers of ASEAN, Japan’s growth bounce, and possible reform in China.

About the Speaker
Frederic Neumann, PhD, is Managing Director and Co-Head of Asian Economic Research at The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC), based in Hong Kong. Before joining HSBC, Neumann was an adjunct professor at a number of U.S. universities, teaching courses on Asian sovereign risk analysis, international financial markets, international monetary policy, and Southeast Asian political culture. He also served as a consultant on Asian economic and political affairs to the World Bank, and various governments. He is a former research associate of the Institute for International Economics in Washington, D.C. A former Fulbright scholar, Neumann holds a PhD in International Affairs from Johns Hopkins SAIS.
