Johns Hopkins SAIS Welcomes New Faculty
We are pleased to welcome the following new experts this year:
Narges Bajoghli is Assistant Professor of Middle East Studies. She is an award-winning anthropologist, filmmaker, and writer. Her academic research focuses on the intersections of media, power, and military in Iran. Her forthcoming book, Anxieties of Power: Sustaining the Revolution in Iran, will be published by Stanford University Press in 2019. Bajoghli received her PhD in Socio-Cultural Anthropology from New York University. |
Lieutenant General David W. Barno, USA (Ret.) is Visiting Professor of Strategic Studies and Senior Fellow of the Merrill Center for Strategic Studies. Barno completed a 30-year active duty Army career as the senior American commander responsible for overall coalition military leadership of the war in Afghanistan. A graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, he earned his master’s degree in National Security Studies from Georgetown University. |
