Professor Awarded Grant to Research Global Water Challenge

Tanvi Nagpal, Practitioner in Residence and Acting Director of the International Development Program (IDEV) received a grant from Die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) to lead a study with the Urban Institute’s Center on International Development and Governance.

The research, conducted collaboratively with Urban Institute and GIZ, will identify innovative non-tariff sources of finance for improving the supply of safely managed water for the hardest to serve poor populations in developing countries. Research results will be discussed at the World Water Forum in Brazil in 2018 and will help to shape GIZ’s advice and policies on how to effectively meet the Sustainable Development Goal for water.
