Senator Kennedy to Speak About America's Future in Iraq at JHU SAIS Kennedy to Discuss History's Lessons in Paving a Realistic Road Forward in Iraq
Senator Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.) will deliver a major address on America's future in Iraq at the Johns Hopkins Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) on Thursday, 01/27 at 1 p.m.
In his speech, Kennedy will discuss history's lessons in paving a realistic road forward in Iraq, including the role of American troops in ending politically inspired violence and the impact of a long-term occupation of Iraq.
Francis Fukuyama, SAIS Schwartz Professor of International Political Economy, will introduce the senator and moderate the discussion.
The lecture is not open to the public. However, the event is open to the media for coverage. Following his speech, Kennedy will respond to questions from the SAIS community audience only.
The event will be held in Kenney Auditorium located on the first floor of the school's Nitze Building, 1740 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C.
