Statement from Dean Steinberg on Türkiye and Syria

Dear Members of the SAIS Community,
 
We are all deeply saddened by enormous human tragedy unfolding from devastating earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria.
 
As we all grieve the heavy loss of life and immense suffering in multiple provinces across both countries, we extend our heartfelt condolences to all who have been touched by this devastating event. We are working to support members of our global SAIS family directly affected by this humanitarian disaster.
 
In this time of crisis, many members of our community are organizing and contributing to relief efforts, including a list of suggested organizations curated by the SAIS Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Club, SAIS Europe and Eurasia Club, and Student Government Association. I commend their leadership and urge everyone to help in any way possible.
