A Competitive Edge in Sino-Global Relations
Quinn Campbell
HNC Certificate/Johns Hopkins SAIS MA ’18
China Studies
Quinn has always wanted to work in China, and he saw the Hopkins-Nanjing Center as the perfect way to reach that goal. Originally, he applied to be a part of the HNC one-year certificate program. But in the fall semester of his first year, Quinn was so impressed by the alumni he met during the Asia Career Trek that he decided to enroll in the HNC Certificate/Johns Hopkins SAIS-MA program.
After completing his undergraduate degree in Finance and Chinese from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Quinn spent the six months prior to starting his graduate studies working with a small investment bank in Shanghai that coordinated with Chinese firms listed in the US. In addition, he also attended the London School of Economics summer school, where he studied the forces influencing the eastward shift of the global economy.
Quinn is the president of the student Consulting Club, and the vice president of the International Finance Club. He recently created a new Learning and Development curriculum for the Consulting Club, wherein students attended a month-long class that included topics from networking to case interviews. In addition, he also worked for the Global Careers office, where he liaised with various consulting firms.
After graduating, Quinn is excited to use his education in International Finance and China Studies as a member of Monitor Deloitte’s asset management strategy practice. He will be working with hedge funds, private equity funds, and mutual funds in business strategy. Though based in New York City, he will also be working closely with the team in Hong Kong on greater China projects.
