U.N. Under-Secretary-General Jean-Marie Guéhenno to Speak at JHU SAIS About Peacekeeping Mission in Lebanon
Jean-Marie Guéhenno, French diplomat and United Nations under-secretary-general for Peacekeeping Operations, will speak at the Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) about "The U.N. Peacekeeping Mission in Lebanon" on Monday, 10/23 at 4:15 p.m.
Guéhenno is currently tasked with organizing the U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon's peacekeeping efforts to police the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah under U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701, which passed in August.
The event, which is open to the public, will be held in the first floor auditorium of the school's Rome Building, 1619 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., in Washington, D.C. Members of the public should RSVP to the SAIS International Law and Organization Program at [email protected] or 202.663.5745.
