Antoni Estevadeordal is an Adjunct Faculty at the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS, John Hopkins University, Washington, DC) and Resident Fellow at the Georgetown Americas Institute (Georgetown University). He is also a Non-Resident Research Fellow at the Barcelona Institute of International Studies (IBEI, Barcelona, Spain), Emerging Markets Institute (Cornell University), and UNU-CRIS (United Nations University, Belgium). He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP).
Antoni has held several senior executive positions at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), including IDB Representative in Europe, Head of the IDB Migration Initiative, and Manager of the IDB Integration and Trade Department. He has expertise in international development and development finance; trade and investment policies; competitiveness and private sector development; and regional cooperation and global public goods.
Antoni holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from Harvard University and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Barcelona. He has taught at the University of Barcelona, University Pompeu Fabra, Harvard University, and Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University. Antoni’s research has been widely published in leading academic journals, including American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Review of Economics and Statistics, Review of International Economics, Review of World Economics, Journal of Economic Integration, World Economy, and International Affairs. In addition, he has authored and edited several books, including his latest 21st Century Cooperation: Regional Public Goods, Global Governance, and Sustainable Development (Routledge). He has been a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution, and member of the WEF Global Council on the Future of Logistics.
