Manfred Hafner is Adjunct Professor in International Energy, SAIS Europe; Adjunct Professor in International Energy at Sciences-Po Paris PSIA; Vice-President Consulting at Enerdata, President of International Energy Consultants (IEC); Associate Fellow at Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM), at Centre for Research on Energy and Environment Economics and Policy (IEFE) Bocconi University, and at Euro-Mediterranean Center for Climate Change (CMCC).

Member of the high level EU-Russia Gas Advisory Council and of the EU-GCC Clean Energy Network. Member of the Advisory Board of the European Energy Journal. Previously and still occasionally teaches also at Mines Paris-Tech, IFP-School, HEC-Paris, the Florence School of Regulation, the Geneva Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, the College of Europe, the Skolkovo Moskow School of Management (BP-Professor), the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy ADA University and the Diplomatic Academy of the Republic of Armenia; has served as the Scientific Director of the Observatoire Méditerranéen de l'Energie. Ph.D. in Energy Studies, Mines-Paris Tech; Master degrees in energy engineering, energy economics and energy policy from Technical University of Munich, IFP-School Paris, University of Pennsylvania.
