Roberto holds an M.A. in Linguistics from the Università La Sapienza di Roma (Italy) and a certificate for teaching Italian as a second language (DITALS II - Università per Stranieri di Siena).
Roberto has extensive experience in language teaching and has attended numerous professional development courses on issues such as oral proficiency interview (The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages), online tutoring (International House), neurolanguage coaching (Efficient Language Coaching) and disabilities in language learning (Università per gli Studi di Parma).
Roberto has been teaching Italian for more than ten years. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins SAIS in 2018 he was coordinator of the Italian Language Program and Instructor in Italian at the U.S. Embassy in Rome.
