All new and returning certificate/non-degree students are eligible for the tuition discount for the summer term and will pay the $5,995 rate. Incoming SAIS degree students who have not yet matriculated will enroll as non-degree students and will likewise receive the non-degree student discount. Students on F-1/J-1 visas will be automatically billed for student health insurance for the 2024 summer term.

The Summer Scholarship is open to all MAIR degree students. It is awarded based on both merit and need of the applicant. The summer scholarship application opens every March and an email will be sent out to MAIR students at both the Washington DC and SAIS Europe campus with instructions on how to apply. All other degree types are not eligible for the summer scholarship.
Financial Aid is only available to certificate and degree students. US citizens or eligible non-citizens may receive Federal Student Aid. Students will need to apply for the FAFSA and meet the following criteria:
Students must have an enrollment status of at least "Half-time" in order to qualify for financial aid.
- For fall & spring terms this equals 8 credits (generally the equivalent of 2 classes)
- For summer term this equals 4 credits (generally the equivalent of 1 class)
Refunds
Please note that the application fee and 10% deposit on tuition are non-refundable. Refund amounts will be determined by the date and time the add/drop is processed.

Alumni Discount
Alumni from Johns Hopkins SAIS’ degree programs, SAIS Europe Diploma, or Hopkins-Nanjing Center Certificate receive a 50% tuition discount from the Degree Student Tuition on summer courses. Summer 2024 tuition for alumni enrolling in a four-credit course is $3,746.88.
