On May 13, 2013, SAIS alumnus Chris Sands '94, Ph.D. '09 published an op ed on CNN.com titled, "Libya needs U.S. help for security."

Joanne Corte Grossi '02, Region III director for U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, was on a healthcare panel on April 29, 2013, addressing "will healthcare reform impact your business?" 

SAIS students were part of a nine-day training course where they provided 'best practice' tips to top executives reports an FSG article on April 30, 2013. The article quotes: "As part of the practicum, nine SAIS graduate students have participated in a unique opportunity this semester to present best practices for managing businesses in emerging markets to a group of experienced senior executives from large multinational companies. The students gave the presentations at last week’s class session as part of their final assignment in this practicum co-taught by SAIS and FSG instructors.
