SAIS alumnus Bao-chiun Ching '12 published an online article on December 10 entitled, "Drubbing and a Surgeon’s Victory: Not Just Cross-Strait Relations: A big win in Taipei by an independent candidate owed to more than discontent over China policy."

On November 5, 2014, Juan Gabriel Tokatlian '91 published an article titled, "Westphalia to Southphalia" in Open Democracy. The article discussed this interesting question: "Does the rise of non-western states such as China, India, South Africa, and Brazil threaten the dominant model of international politics?" 

Congratulations to Jordan Valdes '10 who was recently named on the "40 Under 40" list of Latinos in American Politics. "Jordan was an appointee in the Obama Administration for two years, working on issues pertaining to small business, trade, and exports. She supported the President's National Export Initiative and was her agency's representative before the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and the Transpacific Partnership (TPP) free trade agreements, ensuring the small businesses could benefit from free trade with Asia and Europe.

SAIS alumnus Greg Gangelhoff '14, former student president of the SAIS Energy Club, and three other fellow alumni recently published a report through Swiss Re on "Reframing Risk and Resiliency in the Colombia River Basin: Own Your Risk." 

On September 10, 2014, SAIS alumnus and professorial lecturer John McLaughlin B'66, '66 published an article on the President's speech titled, "The Battle Against the Islamic State." It was published as part of his regular Ozy "The Spy Who Told Me" column.
